How can one resist laughing or smiling when Bill Cosby is performing?
How can any one stays insensitive to Aliyah’s voice, singing?
How can anybody ignore Michael Jackson’s phenomenal existence?

The Guiraud McDonald Cultural Exchange Inc. (GMCE), which was created in 1999, is a
not-for-profit corporation and one of the key players in the artistic, creative, and
educational lives of school districts in New York, the Tri-State area, and the Eastern
United States. In addition GMCE also operates a cultural exchange program between
Africa and the United States.

The Mission of GMCE

GMCE's mission is to promote cross-cultural awareness by creating an on-going training
program with a comprehensive strategy of teaching African traditional and professional
dance, its history, music, percussion and performing arts.

The GMCE addresses the underlying needs of talented students, young adults, and
disadvantaged youth. This is done through a training strategy that promotes professional
skills, which lead to economic independence and major contributions to society.

In GMCE's strategy the techniques used in  African traditional and professional dance, its
history, music, percussion and performing arts, African textiles, drum making, arts, crafts,
and design are explored . This includes workshops, performing and providing travel to
Africa and throughout the USA for students enrolled in the cultural exchange program.

GMCE has presented workshops, performances, classes and lectures extensively
throughout the USA since it's creation in 1999 and continues ongoing collaboration with
institutions to develop and promote outreach through the programs that it offers.
